I always enjoy one day tour with visitors from other country, it's interesting to see how people react from different area.....
I booked this one day tour from TripAdvisor and I saw the reviews is 5 starts. And Capilano suspension bridge also one of my list in Vancouver. So why not?
Compared the tour guieded by Asia people, the " Landsea tours" tour guide can also driving and introducing the city at the same time. I guess this is probably a must-be capability in Vancouver tour.....Our Tour guide "Tim" is hilarious, he told us lots of "dead jocks: during the trip, ex: Do you know Canda geese are everywhere all over the world? There is only one country the don't call it canda geese, it's "Portuguese"🤣.
The one day tour includes:
- Vancouver lookout----It's high building very close to the Gastown steam clock.....the view is okay but not really attracting
- Granvill Island-----Stop only about one hour and you have take care of your lunch, not quite enough time for the place
- Stanley Part Brockton Point Totem Pole----I think Stanley park need one day. But still feel good to have an oververiw about Stanley Park
- Capilano Suspension Bridge Park: The key spot of the one day tour, we spent 1.5 hr here is just enough to walk though all the trails.
It's interesting that I thought one day tour by Canadian will be more" efficient" compare to Asian, but I was wrong... Landsea Tour arrange pick up for all visitors, by that means they spend lots of time for " pick up " and "drop off" the the tourists. They even assign shuttle bus for only "pick up" and put all visitors at one meeting point. The upside is all visitors don't need to pay effort to get to the meeting point, but the downside is time wasting, especially some of the visitors being "late" and spot stay time will be cut. The shuttl bus pick me up driven by "Sarah" and we had little chat while waiting for other visitos. I told her living in Vancouver is tough because the cost for living is really high and she said she has to take 2 jobs to maintain her living. The beautiful scene are paid by all of the citizens in Vancouver because the TAX is so high. Due to inflation after covid, the cost for leaving raised to a record high....so bad🥺...
Anyway, I finally met my tour guide "Tim" at the meeting point and started the tour of today.
The 1st stop is Stanley park Totme pole.
Our tour guide was so naughty...whenever we asked him to take photos, he finally took a silfie in your phone 🤣
Next Stop: Grandvill island: It's interesting just few days ago, I looked Grandvill island from the dock of bay of downtown on the other side. Grandvill island has many little art gift shops, and it worth spending 2 hours. However, to had enough lunch time, I only spent ~10 min to walk around.
Next Stop: Vancouver lookout: The building is not high enough to have a better overlook. When we down stairs, the tour guide asked us if we enjoy the scene? Some visitors just replied: not so much...
Final and today's key stop: Capilano Suspension Bridge:
I have to say, I didn't expect too much because some EC's classmates told me it was so so...but when I started to walk through the bridge, I really impressed because it was really shaky and kind of long. The look of my face told the feeling😆
One more interesting thing was, a big MOM asked me to take a phone for her, and I had to take her ice cream first, then took photo in such a shaky bridge, crowded with passengers....I was thinking " What??" But I still took a photo for her. Later she asked me more and I disappeared as fast as I could 😓....
This park reminds me of Taiwan's "溪頭” forest. The ideas are very simila but Capilano is much more commercialzed with decorations. With upcoming thanks giving holiday, the pumpkin is everywhere.
I spend around 1.5 hr to finished all the trails including the Cliff walk (not terrifying at all to me😒). During my walk, I met 2 friends from Florida. We had good conversation⋯⋯
From the one day tour, I realized most people were 1st time to Vancouver and most of their ages were over 50. So sometimes our tour guide would say, if you have "mobility issue", I can pick you up at xxxx. One day tour are mostly for those who are not so good at walking or time to arrange their trip. The friends from Florida could only walk partial of the park because they couldn't finish all based on their speed. And I am very lucky that I enjoyed the city when I still good at walking.
